The civilian expedition to the Dark Continent that the whole voyage nominally serves — its leader in custody, its ranks salted with agendas (Ging, Pariston) that dwarf the manifest. Since ch. 401 the file reads differently: Beyond's real network is a generation of secret, cursed children seeded through Kakin's guard corps.
