Camilla's trump card detonates: Musse shoots her dead, and her counteractive Cat's Name revives her by taking her killer's life. She kills one of Unma's guards en route, shoots Benjamin — who refuses to retaliate and has her arrested — and the reader learns Benjamin Baton: the First Prince inherits the abilities of loyal soldiers who die, Vincent's and Musse's stars already on his palm.
